We believe in one God, perfect in power and goodness, Who is all-knowing, all-present, all-powerful, all-wise, full of love and justice. God is one in essence and three in persons, a Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe God is good in all His works, from creation to His ruling and sustaining power over all Creation (Deut. 6:4, Psa. 135:5-6, Luk. 12:6-7, Psa. 139:7-12, Mat. 28:18-20, Deut. 10:14, Col. 1:17).
We believe that God created humans in His image to have a relationship with Him and co-rule creation. Each person has immense value and dignity as an image-bearer of God. God created two genders, male and female, and designed marriage between one man and one woman to be the center of the family. Humanity was plunged into sin when the first humans rebelled against God. As a result, all have a sin nature and have rebelled against God, resulting in separation from Him. Having been brought into the world by our sin, evil now permeates creation, corrupting God’s good design. Humans, due to their sinful nature, live in rebellion against God and are unable to save themselves (Gen. 1:26-30, 2:24-25; Psa. 8, Jer. 17:9, Rom. 3:23; Eph. 5:21-33).
We believe that the Bible is inspired by God, inerrant in its original manuscripts, and bears the authority of God in all it teaches. The Bible tells the story of God’s rescue plan to save people from sin and evil, a story climaxing in the arrival of the Promised King, Jesus (1 Tim. 3:16-17, Gen. 12:1-3, Isa. 53).
We believe that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity who took on flesh and became fully man while being fully God. He lived a sinless life, perfectly demonstrated the character of the Father, died to atone for our sins and conquer evil, and gave the Holy Spirit to His disciples, by which we are given a new heart. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus; good works flow out of a relationship with Jesus but do not merit salvation (Joh. 1:1, 14; Heb. 4:15, 1:3; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2:24, 3:18; Eph. 1:7; John 20:22; Rom. 6-8; Eph. 2:8-9).
We believe that the Church consists of all those individuals who have repented of their sins and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Church is called to be His holy people, to reflect His goodness into the world, and to be His co-laborers, working to advance the Kingdom of God by preaching the Gospel and faithfully living it out in acts of justice, beauty, and holiness. The Church is called to the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, as well as to prayer, worship, the study of Scripture, and community. Followers of Jesus join themselves to a local congregation to grow in discipleship and be equipped for ministry (Rom. 10:9-10; Luk. 13:3; Jhn. 3:16; 1 Pet. 2:2-4; Jhn. 13:35; Phl. 2:13; Mat. 5-7, 28:18-20; Jam. 1:27).
We believe Jesus is returning to judge all people, living and dead. The fate of those who have rejected His grace in this life is eternal destruction. Those who have been saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus will spend eternity with God, Who will make all things new, abolishing all evil and filling New Creation with His goodness (Act. 17:30-31, Rev. 20-21).
